Report – Career Opportunities in Biomedical Engineering for 10th and 12th students for the year 2022 There are so many careers emerging across globe and are unknown to students. These need to be discovered and their importance must be published amongst every school. So we decided to give students, knowledge about career opportunities like what they can do after 10th or 12th. We presented seminar in various school and colleges.

The International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8th March 2022 in our college. The purpose of celebrating Women’s Day is to raise awareness about the women empowerment, gender equality, status and dignity of women among the students.
The celebration was witnessed by Chief guest Advocate Sarojini Tamshetty, guest of honor Mrs.NazinIlahi Sayyed principal of SSJ college Bale, our college principal Dr. B.J Patil, function coordinators Prof. Archana Bhurle, Mrs. Vijaya Shivgonde and all the staff and students of BIGCE. In this event chief guest talked on laws specially meant for girls and guest of honor talked importance of women in the society. Event was hosted by Prof. Meenal Hebbal and Prof. Shruti Regal.Several competitions like Mehndi, Rangoli, Hairstyle, Twins days were conducted on the eve of women’s day celebration and especially we had organized talk on Awareness of Health Issues in Ladies by Dr. Rashmi Yogesh Gynecologist Bangalore through online mode on 7th of March 2022.

Prizes and certificates were distributed to all winners of different event by chief guest and guest
of honor.

On the eve of Women’s Day celebration department of Biomedical Engineering organized a talk on “Awareness of Health Issues in Ladies” by Dr. Rashmi Yogesh Gynaecologist Bangalore through online mode on 7th of March 2022 and on 8th of March Session on“Awareness of Women Rights in the Society “by the chief guest Advocate Sarojini Tamshetty was Organized. She covered all health issues related to the ladies. And she also answered all our students quarries.

A Respectful Bow to woman Power Mahila Gaurav Puraskar (In fond of late Mrs. Sushilatai Gaikwad our institute honor the
achievments of women) we oragnized a lecture seies on Nari Shakti #sheinspiresus, in this series lectures from all the department of our college talked on a particular women who inspires them and students also voluntrily took participation and talked on woman Empowerment and women who inspired them.

Five Day workshop on “Biomedical Equipment Service and Maintenance”

5 days (from 27-6-22 to 1-7-22) workshop/hands on training on Biomedical Equipment’s Service and Maintenance was Organized by Department of Biomedical Engineering The chief guest of the inaugural function was our principal Dr. B.J Patil and guest of honor was our Speaker Haris Atnoorkar Global distributors Solapur, other than this, inaugural function was attended by Prof. Archana Bhurle Aland HOD of Biomedical engg. and all other staff of the Biomedical, E&TC, E&E department of our college and Students of Biomedical engineering dept.

Day 1:
Speaker talked and represented presentation on all the biomedical equipments used in the

hospital which include: Stethoscope, Sphygmomanometer (Digital and Analog),Pulse oximeter, glucometer ,examination torch, nebulizer, digital thermometer, weight machine, ECG machine, Patient monitor, Ambu Bag, Laryngoscope, Vein Detector, Syringe Pump. Infusion Pump, Oxygen Concentrator, Holter Machine, Spirometer, Microscope, CPAP, BIPAP, Ventilator, HFNC, Defibrillator, TMT, Feetal Dopler, and radiology equipment like X-ray, Xary view box, MRI, CT Scan, PET etc.
Day 2:
Speaker started with the Stethoscope, Examination Torch, Vein detector, Weighing machine , Digital Thermometer how it is used, working principle, how to troubleshot the problem if faced by doctor. He mentioned maximum time there will be a battery problem and he instructed students how to check battery, if necessary, asked them to replace
Day 3:
Day 3 he started with introducing many equipment’s but majorly focused on BP Apparatus/
Sphygmomanometer he covered both digital and Analog BP apparatus he showed how to check systolic and diastolic blood pressure and asked students also do that he showed how to change mercury tube, how to replace Valves, how to clean valves, how to check and replace Bulb, How to check Dial Guage, Tube connector.
Day 4:
Day 4 he only focused on Patient Monitor on this day as these plays very important role in hospital irrespective of departments. He explained and showed 5 para, 7 para, 10 para, 12 para, 15 para monitors. the para includes ECG, BP, Respiratory count, Body temperature, SPo2, NIBP, IBP, PR etc. he trained students how to handle the monitor what all are the pre settings to be done before patient check, how to connect probes to the monitor and to the patient, what all are the problems to be faced during handling a patient monitor and how to resolve it.
Day 5:
Day 5 Speaker mainly focused on ECG. He explained what is ECG and ECG waves, ECG paper/thermal paper how to handle the ECG machine mainly with respect to 5 lead and 12 lead ECG. he showed how to connect the leads to the patient by using ECG stimulator. He explained color of leads 4 arm leads, 6 chest leads. He also showed how to enter and save patient data in ECG machine. On the last day Coordinator of the program Prof. Meenal Hebbal presented a vote of thanks. And thanked the speaker for spending his valuable

5 days with our students. Thanked all
teaching and non teaching staff of the department who helped for this workshop.

Objective of the event	The event was organized with an intention to create awareness about intellectual property rights amongst the students and faculty.
Outcome of the event	The seminar was delivered by the expert on the same and interactive sessions helped the students to clear the doubts patents and intellectual property rights. On 22/12/2021 o ne day Webinar on Career guidance on Biomedical Imaging Industry (Resource Person Ms. Kirti Dixit, Clinical Application Specialist-Cardiovascular Ultrasound, Philips India Ltd. Mumbai) was conducted in association with dept. of Training and placement BIGCE. Students from all years from biomedical department attended the seminar.

On 5th August 2021 seminar was organized on how to use “Microsoft Teams” at Shanti English Medium School, Solapur under Margdarshan. Staff from the school attended and experienced on Microsoft Team. We explained creating classes on teams, adding students to that class, creating link for the class, sending assignments, taking test on teams, downloading attendance and how to record that particular class.

A Seminar was organized by Biomedical Engineering Department of Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi College of Engineering (BIGCE), Solapur on March 16, 2018, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Government Residential Women’s Polytechnic, Latur. The Seminar was delivered by Prof. B. Chandravanshi and Prof. Mayuri A. Deshpande on “MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNIQUES IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING” in the presence of Dr. MD Patil (Principal, BIGCE Solapur) and Dr. A.M. Agarkar (Principal, GRWP, Latur). The program was started with felicitation of Dr. MD Patil by the principal of GRWP, Latur, Dr. A.M. Agarkar. Prof. B. Chandravanshi and Prof. Mayuri A. Deshpande were felicited by the students. Along with this the momentous were given to Dr. A.M. Agarkar and Prof. Sonali
Hartalkar. The seminar was attended by the students of Medical Electronics (FE, SE, and TE) with some of interested Electronics and Telecommunication student making the strength of around 120. In this seminar, the students got to know about the scenario of Biomedical Engineering in the present day. In the beginning of the seminar, Prof. B. Chandravanshi speaks about the basics of
Biomedical Engineering. He told the student what Biomedical Engineering is, its concept and vision for the improvement in the healthcare industry. Further Prof. Mayuri A. Deshpande continues the seminar with great influence on students. She explores the medical imaging techniques used in the field for the diagnosis of the diseases and problems. She describes various modalities like X-ray, CT- Scan, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, PET, Optical and electron microscopy etc. She also mentions about the Capsule Camera, the latest endoscopy technique to visualize inner parts of the gastrointestinal tract. She continues her speech by motivating students to contribute to healthcare industry by becoming a Biomedical Engineer, more being an
Entrepreneur in this field. Dr. MD Patil (Principal, BIGCE Solapur) also share his experience and motivates the students.
He presented the vision of Biomedical Engineering in his speech. The seminar was came to end by vote of thanks from Dr. A.M. Agarkar (Principal, GRWP, Latur). He appreciated this seminar and thanks for the suggestion, support and motivation
